Director Pascale Ferran on Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho:
«I discovered Psycho when I was eleven years old on TV, and it took me 40 years to see it again! Hitchcock had stated that his goal was to make people scream with fear and for his film to work like a rollercoaster. Psycho is amazing for its art of collage and its interplay of shots, which find elements in common with the work of Cindy Sherman, David Hockney, and Don DeLillo.»

DVD and Blu Ray publisher Alain Carradore received the Raymond Chirat Prize for his contribution to the history of cinema for the Western Legends collection.
«How can one not be touched by an award that bears the name of such an illustrious collector and creator of cinephiles? And what's more, it is awarded in the Mecca of heritage cinema. A real reward for the film culture that I try to pass on.»

Integration Fortnight: volunteers from all over the world at the festival
Somalia, Georgia and other nations were represented in the Festival Village for the 13th edition of the ‘Fortnight of Integration’ in partnership with the Rhône Prefecture, the Region and seven associations. This programme enables refugees to join the team of volunteers. For Shereen Shirad, a 38-year-old, Afghan, "I welcomed the public to the Halle Tony-Garnier!” Shereen is learning French at the Lyon-based association ‘Langues Comme Une’, a partner of the Fortnight. Thanks to the ‘Entraide Pierre Valdo’ association, Liberian Sonita Cole became a volunteer: "I'll remember it for the rest of my life! I would like to work in hospitals to give back what France gave me when it opened its doors to me.” A job dating event will be held on 24 November at the Tony Parker Adéquat Academy hosted by the Adéquat group, a partner in the programme, to promote the professional integration of volunteers.
