My brief bio: Originally from Yvelines, Olivier Drouet joined the team of volunteers four years ago. A mountain enthusiast, he moved to Lyon in 2011 as part of his job as a tourism agency manager. With spirit and energy, Olivier has increased his volunteering activities: from the Banff mountain film festival to the AMAPentes solidarity grocery shop in the Croix-Rousse. Introduced to the Lumière Film Festival by his girlfriend, he enjoys welcoming festivalgoers to the movie theatres in Lyon every year.

My favourite filmmakers: Pedro Almodóvar: I like the way he lets us enter the psychology of the characters, it's a cinema that exudes reality. And he always has formidable actors! I also like the universe of Michel Gondry and Hayao Miyazaki.

My favourite actors: Vincent Lindon, he inhabits each of his roles. I also like the man he is, his convictions. I also love Sandrine Kiberlain and Kevin Spacey.

My favourite film: ‘The Three Brothers’ by Didier Bourdon and Bernard Campan- it's a cult film, I know it by heart! The other two of my top three are ‘Good Will Hunting’ by Gus Van Sant and ‘American Beauty’ by Sam Mendes, for its incredible aestheticism.

My interest in volunteering: What I like about this festival is to see people from all generations together, both in the volunteer teams and in the audience, with cinema as the common link.

My tasks at the festival: I welcome the public to several movie theatres (Opéra, Lumière Terreaux, UGC Confluence). I also was involved with the sale of merchandise at the Halle Tony-Garnier during the Opening Ceremony of the festival.

My favourite memory of the festival: The second ‘Lord of the Rings’ All-Nighter, held at the Halle Tony-Garnier in 2018; it was a magical moment! I was impressed by the number of participants, and many of them dressed up. We saw lots of Gandalfs and Hobbits - it had an incredible atmosphere!
