My quick bio: A researcher in pharmaceutical development, Tanmoy is a newcomer to the volunteer team this year. A great first for this Bangladeshi fan of sci-fi films and biopics. After discovering the festival thanks to a friend, Tanmoy decided to get involved as a volunteer with the Singa association, which works for the integration of refugees. A beautiful start for this scientist-cinephile who has made it a rule of life to watch "one film a day".

My favourite filmmakers: James Cameron and Ron Howard - as a science fiction fan, I think they are the best filmmakers. For me, scientific research is like cinema: there is a story, a logic that you follow to achieve a specific objective. And when we present our work in scientific journals or at conferences, we have to write a summary with a photo; it's a bit like a film synopsis with a trailer!

My favourite actors: Tom Cruise, he is incredible! And then I love lesser-known actresses, like the Romanian actress Alexandra Maria Lara and the Canadian Rosa Bianca Salazar.

My favourite film: ‘Bogowie (Gods)’ by Polish director Lukasz Palkowski, a biopic about surgeon Zbigniew Religa, one of the pioneers of heart transplants. It's an incredible film about success! And the film I've watched the most times is ‘Rush’ by Ron Howard!

My interest in volunteering: What I enjoy most is communicating with people and getting to know the personalities of the filmmakers through their movies and their presentations at the screenings.

My tasks at the festival: I help welcome the public to the Lumière Village, but also to the bookshop. I also take part in welcoming students during the school screenings.
